Heavy Mongol Metal from Tennger Cavalry - War Horse

Named after the sky god of Mongolian shamanism, Tengger Cavalry blends overtone throat singing, Mongolian horse-head fiddle and other nomadic music tradition of Central Asia with heavy rock music, creating a crossover genre – Nomadic Folk Metal

Current lineup: Nature Ganganbaigal (vocal & guitar), Alex Abayev (bass), Josh Schifris (drum), Uljmuren (fiddle) and Robert McLaughlin (fiddle).

One of the first songs I ever heard from these guys was War Horse. It's epically explosive, hard and heavy it is a beautiful blend of folk and metal.

Enjoy.

Also find them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and of course YouTube

The movie they splice into their video is Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (Directer: Sergei Bodrov) from 2007. It is a gloriously presented movie that has a real feeling of the imagery of 300. Really worth a watch.
